
Habip Koçak merges his identity as a professor of mathematics with his passion as an artist deeply engaged in photography. Since 2015, he has dedicated himself to documentary photography projects, reaching broad audiences through prestigious national and international exhibitions and talks. His work, which is frequently published, focuses on humanitarian themes and is global in scope, offering concise and concerned records of events, making him available for photo essays and articles.
Koçak views each photograph as a storyteller, aiming to evoke thought and emotional interaction by drawing viewers into the subject matter. Placing the documentary approach at the core of his art, he emphasises reality and human stories, striving to capture not only images but also the emotion and atmosphere of the moment.
Recent projects include "Obscure," "Kakava - Behind the Camera," and "I Can't Breathe," which document social issues and diverse life experiences. His book, "ÜNSÜZLER," published in October 2020, focuses on street portraits, offering a profound expression of human depth.
Koçak is a member of esteemed organizations, including the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), Oxford Photographic Society (OPS), and the Centre for British Documentary Photography (CBDP). He is a co-founder of the OX1 Documentary and Street Photography Collective and the owner and editor of the photography magazine XPOSURE.
