Habip Koçak is a professor of mathematics as well as an artist who is intertwined with photography. Since 2015, he has been producing documentary photography projects and participating in presentations and exhibitions. He has participated in many prestigious talks and exhibitions both nationally and internationally, bringing his work to a wide audience. He has also served as a jury member in various photography competitions.

 

Koçak sees each of his photographs as a storyteller and aims to make the viewer think and create an emotional interaction by drawing the viewer into the subject. Focusing deeply on the documentary approach of the art of photography, reality and human stories, the artist aims to capture not only the images but also the emotion and atmosphere of the moment while looking through his lens. Each frame and the his whole project tell a story and draw the viewer into the events, allowing them to establish an emotional connection.

 

His recent projects include "Obscure", "Kakava - Behind the Camera" and "I Can't Breathe". In these projects, he utilised the power of documentary photography to focus on social issues, human stories and various life experiences. In October 2020, his book about street portraits, "Unsuzler", was published and with this work, he reflected a strong expression that reflects the depths in people's portraits. 

He is a member of important photography organisations such as the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), Oxford Photographic Society (OPS), Sille Sanat and IFSAK. He's co-founder of OX1 Street and Documentary Photography Collective. He is also the owner and editor of the magazine XPOSURE
